Congrats to the entire team for a dominant tournament win Nov 17-19th at the Lakeshore Lightning Houseleague Tournament.
The team finished the tourney with 5 wins and 0 losses having scored 26 goals and only allowing 4 against!
Keira F. earned 3 shutouts along the way including both the Semi-Final and the Final games. Though she wasn't busy for long swathes of time, she had to come up big on some goal saving shots in every game all the while nursing a minor injury!
Our line up was different each day due to work commitments, injuries & being away and no matter what the line up was, the players hustled and outworked their opponents. Our team Captains, Lena and West did a great job leading the team! Special thanks to the Jaden & Sydney from team Blue for pitching in, fitting in & dominating on the ice too ... Way To Go Jaden & Syd! Thanks for filling in for our injured player Claire as well as Keira & Ashleigh who could not make it.
We were anchored by our big 3 D for the entire tourney ... Lena, Jenna and Marissa and with Jaden (Fri/Sat) or Faith (Sun) rounding out the D, they were a wall in-front of Keira. Great defence, nice puck moving, excellent rushes plus they scored 4 of our 5 Game Winning Goals. Three by Lena and one by Jenna.
Upfront, every forward contributed all over the ice - Evalyn, Hannah, Emma, Sofia, Ellie, Macy, Brodi, Sydney &West.
In all 11 different players scored goals and every single player had at least 3 points. Hat-tricks were recorded by Emma during the round robin and then in the Championship game both Evalyn and Brodi notched hatties in the dominant 7-0 win!
